It’s a bit late if you’re a bomb-fan, but Tom Jones, the Sex Bomb himself, was up the road from us last night, performing at the Mission Estate in Napier, Hawkes Bay. The concert was outdoors, and the sound traveled well enough that we were tapping our toes to “She’s a Lady”, and “It’s Not Unusual”.

The Mission Estate hosts an annual concert, and in addition to above-mentioned Tom Jones, has featured artists such as Eric Clapton, Rod Steward, Olivia Newton-John and Chris De Burgh.

Parking is reputed to be a nightmare, and reliable sources have told me that the beautifully tended gardens of the estate are not visible the morning after, due to the volume of litter (primarily bottles) lying around.
