This post started as an idea to hook readers into supporting my head-shaving endevour, to raise funds for the New Zealand Leukaemia and Blood Foundation.

In the process of researching it, I discovered some interesting facts…

• Anna Fitzpatrick lost all her body hair at age 7. She’s now a sexy, sought-after model and TV host, and hit upon by the boys who once taunted her.
• NakedKiwi, a political satire site, purports to sell a “pope-on-a-rope” soap, to “wash your sins away”.
• On 1 April 2008 (I don’t think it’s an April Fools gag), a police office in Balcultha was woken (by his wife) to the sound of somebody trying to start his car. Completely naked, he chased the offender with nothing but a torch, who was quickly picked up by a patrol car.
• Naked News is scheduled to air on independent channel Alt TV in mid-May, and will consist of nightly wrap-ups of the day’s events.It will screen at 10pm and be sponsored by a condom company. Family First have decried the news, stating that “most people would be horrified”.
• A South African, freshly immigrated to New Zealand, offered to have his head shaved in return for sponsorship for the Leukaemia and Blood foundation - read more!
